BRIDEWELL
The votes were well spread in this competition which resulted in a very close run finish. Just 6.5 points separated the top 5 and congratulations go to Kenneth Horne who just nicked it with some excellent wordplay. First time on the podium for Kenneth, so well done indeed for making it a number one!
And a very welcome face in second. Shirley has had a top 5 finish before, but that was back in 2008! Let's hope that this effort with the best of the &lits is a sign of some better fortune to come.
Third place goes to Martin who is becoming one of our more consistent performers – that's the third podium finish this year now – who took a very intriguing slant on the breakdown of the clue word.
Fourth spot for another steady competitor, this is also John Appleton's third top 5 finish of the year, whose clever, if non-Ximenean effort, demonstrates that we are a broad church!
Final placing goes to Teyrnon, returning to the upper echelons after a break of a couple of years since his last showing – well done.
