IMARI (Printer’s Devilry)
Printer's Devilry – with its totally different clueing approach – often throws some new names into the mix. Such was the case this time round. After his debut on the podium last month, Toby jumps up to first spot with a wonderful switch in readings between devilled and undevilled versions. Hearty congratulations to Toby!
In second place we have another newcomer – Todd Konkel achieving a debut podium with what was regarded as the best of the "primaries" clues – well done Todd!
Nice to see a familiar name pop up in a not so familiar place – first top 5 finish in a couple of years for Shirley – one of the more original approaches.
Kenneth makes a reappearance in the placings – again first time for a couple of years, since his win back in 2014 – well done Kenneth – another effort that strayed from the mainstream.
Finally, two of the big guns tied for 5th with their "primaries" clues – both using Trump cards, but in slightly different ways – well done Don and John T!
Another excellent set of clues to enjoy and the PD fans have had their fill for this year!
