COMMENTS
403 entries, no mistakes. Not a lot to say this month. I have been putting the finishing touches to a collection of early Azed puzzles to be reissued in book form later in the year by Chambers, and am very pressed for time. Ms Bordes and the Harrods affair loomed large, though it wasn’t easy to work them in in a way that disposed naturally with the letters of the clue word. Simpler and more straightforward clues tended to win the day this time.

I’m sorry the announcement of the results was delayed, too. I was abroad for a week promoting (to Italian teachers) a new dictionary for foreign learners of which I am the managing editor – no, not the OED! Things are now back to normal, I’m glad to say.
