So now we know – it's not just Azed who has a liking for clues with a cricketing reference. it's more widespread! Congratulations to Margaret on winning with some very clever wordplay and, of course, that cricketing theme.
 
Tough luck on Tom, just missing out in second (following his 3rd place last month) with his very neat and concise &lit offering.
 
Don continues his excellent form of this year, a little way back in 3rd with the best of the Election themed clues.
 
Anthony in 4th place, his first podium finish since his World Cup victory last summer – his clue made me chuckle with its aptness once the Election results came in!
 
Finally Dave P maintains his amazing run of podium finishes this year! Coupled with the last competition of 2014 that's now 5 in a row – I will have to check the archives, that must be a record! Well done Dave, a nicely deceptive definition.

Please award FIVE points maximum to the clue you judge best: FOUR points for second, THREE for third, TWO for fourth, down to ONE point for fifth; but otherwise you may distribute your votes as you see fit including ½ marks for split voting – as long as you award no more than 15 points IN TOTAL and no more than 5 points to any one clue…
 
…and of course you may NOT VOTE for your own clue!

Your challenge for April is a STANDARD CRYPTIC clue to CHOKEY(6) by the closing date of MIDNIGHT BST WEDNESDAY 29th APRIL.

Remember that whilst you are composing (and pondering) your clue effort, the entry interface allows you to "Save but don't submit". But even if you "Submit this clue" you are still able to amend – or even retract – your entry right up until the end.
