Comments on the clue

1.	Holmes was manifestly not a copper!
2.	Holmes wasn't a policeman.
3.	I like the idea of coppery = like a policeman but it's far too vague, and arguably inaccurate.
4.	nice try but I don't like 'coppery' as a definition.
5.	Not sure Holmes is "like a policeman"
6.	ingenious but not sure Sherlock was intended to be 'like a copper'
7.	Really like this, but can't accept the definition
8.	Devilishly simple. I like it.
