Comments on the clue
1.Letter mixture starts and ends mid-word
2.Rather ponderous and the scansion is flawed – extra syllable in line 2 and different stress pattern.
3.ER is not hesitation, it's an expression / indication of hesitation. Subtle difference but it matters. Scans ok
4.The letter mixture does not meet requirements. I'm not keen on 'puzzle' doing double duty here
