1.The overall surface reading doesn't really fit the occasion.
2.scrappy and tough to fathom
3.Charlie = C = Centenary is not a valid way of defining something, in my book.
4.Charlie = C = 100 = 100th is far too indirect for my liking. 'My intention' does not really define crossword.
