1.
Given the availability of anagram generators and ready-made anagrams online, I'm not convinced that this competition is a good test of cluing ability. Putting that aside, I think some flexibility about names is acceptable, within reason (and or &, initial "The" or not, 5 or five, for example) although I draw the line at 1 instead of I. However, many of the entries are not convincing album titles, which must surely be the main criterion. The competition does NOT simply call for three anagrams of artists' names, even if they have a common link or theme. 31 surely deserves to win for the brilliant Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan anagram alone, although Maid to Love is also excellent, and Crude Monk is perfectly acceptable to complete the trio. Five points to 31, three and a half points each to 40 and 13, two points to 30, and one point to 41
2.
I was sorry that some entrants (including the very good 46) felt it necessary to give explanatory pleading. Good stuff here, though.
3.
Some creative clues in this round although some bands/artists were too obscure for the anagrams to have much meaning for me. Or am I getting too old? Difficult to pick a standout entry.
4.
Some clues had no connection to the band; the best ones had this connection or else a theme running through all three
Thanks for a fun challenge!
5.
Not too many clues where all three anagrams seemed like catchy titles to albums
6.
I wish I'd thought of constructing a sentence with all three acts! 26, 3, 46, 14 (in descending order) get my points as a result, with a consolation prize for the BJH concept album at 20
7.
This was too difficult and time-consuming for me, so I admire all those who stuck at it to produce these entries. Choosing ones to award points to is even more difficult than usual.
