…and here finally are the February results…
 
Congratulations to Charlie Oakley on taking first place! Incredibly that is now his fifth podium in a row – amazing consistency – a clue that utilised that double reading of 'minute'.
 
Second spot went to Satyen Nabar, another consistent performer of late with a clue that had a somewhat sobering surface reading.
 
Third place for Nick Smith – his first podium for a while, so well done – another convincing surface although I think you have to go quite a way back for Liverpool's first title win!
 
Nathan Townsend scores a first podium of this year with fourth place giving us a royal flavour in the surface.
 
Finally Philip Sant after his excellent year in 2023 gets onto the scoreboard in fifth spot. A clever LITTLE &lit once you got the reference.
 
As always, thanks to all for your efforts…apologies for the delay again, but we should be back on track from now onwards…good luck with BARBERSHOP!

Voting Information

Voting is open until Midnight UK time on Thursday 28th March.
 
Please award FIVE points maximum to the clue you judge best: FOUR points for second, THREE for third, TWO for fourth, down to ONE point for fifth; but otherwise you may distribute your votes as you see fit including ½ marks for split voting – as long as you award no more than 15 points IN TOTAL and no more than 5 points to any one clue…
 
…and of course you may NOT VOTE for your own clue!

Please remember that if any particular clue or clues do not find favour with you, it is more helpful to offer constructive criticism – many of our members are keen to learn and hone their clue writing skills through our competition – feedback may be useful for their future efforts!

Entry Information

Firstly, huge apologies for the inordinately long delay in initiating the February competition )and in fact for the posting of the results for December as well as the voting for January!). I have been indisposed for a while, but all up and running now, so let's get things back on track!
 
Thanks to you all for your continued support of the Crossword Centre competitions and now your challenge for February (although tipping over a LITTLE into early March!) is a STANDARD CRYPTIC clue to LITTLE (6) by the closing date of MIDNIGHT GMT SATURDAY 9th MARCH.

Remember that whilst you are composing (and pondering) your clue effort, the entry interface allows you to "Save but don't submit". But even if you "Submit this clue" you are still able to amend – or even retract – your entry right up until the end.
 
BUT DON'T FORGET TO CLICK THE "SUBMIT THIS CLUE" BUTTON BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE!
