Comments on the clue

1.	Using 'crab' to get 'hermit' doesn't really work.
2.	Best of the 'cheese and wine party' clues.
3.	not convinced with 'thrash' as an anagram indicator, given its placement in the clue
4.	I think that 'mo' would need an archaic indicator really and I am not sure that 'thrash' works after the fodder.
5.	Brilliantly concise.
